Leonard Cohen, MD, Ph.D.
Dr. Cohen is a graduate of the New York University School of Medicine (M.D., Ph.D. program) and at graduation was awarded the Bertram M. Gesner Memorial Award for Excellence in Research in Immunology.  He also did his Internal Medicine residency at NYU Medical Center-Bellevue Hospital, and his Allergy and Immunology Fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis.  He is board certified in Allergy and Immunology, as well as Internal Medicine.

In addition to his private practice in West Hartford, Dr. Cohen has been the Chief of the Section of Allergy and Immunology at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center since 1982.  He ran the Saint Francis Allergy Clinic until 2011 and still participates in the allergy aspects of the St. Francis Asthma Center, as well as in patient consultations.

Dr. Cohen is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCONN School of Medicine.  He has taught countless medical students and residents, and has been an invited speaker at medical symposium.  He has published multiple scientific papers and participated in many clinical studies of new medications for allergies, asthma and hives.  Dr. Cohen also participates in the immunological aspects of the UCONN Medical Center Brochiectasis Clinic.

Dr. Cohen is a past president of the Connecticut Allergy Society.  He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (AAAAI) and also of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (ACAAI).  He regularly reviews scientific papers for the Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.

He is very proud to have been selected as one of the "Best Docs in America" every year from 1995- 2012.
